About Us
The story of MadoroM is a story of hard work and the unremitting striving
for excellence in winemaking. MadoroM wines are the product of the
collaboration between owners Andy and Marissa Amador and winemaker Mike Blom.
Andy grew up living, hunting and fishing in the Napa Valley. As Andy spent
most of his youth in and around vineyards, he vowed to plant vines as soon
as he could. At age 27, Andy purchased a 188 acre ranch in the eastern Napa
Valley. Shortly thereafter, 50 acres of vines were planted at the ranch. He
then expanded his vineyard holdings and planted a vineyard at the base of
Mt. Veeder.
Mike spent the last 24 years making wine. After a chance meeting,
they found they both wanted to bring their experiences together to create
memorable wine. Mike initially made a small lot of wine from Andy's Mt. Veeder vineyard to see what the potential was for crafting an exceptional
wine.
Their first vintage was unveiled at a gathering of friends and family. A
stunned silence fell over the crowd upon tasting their premier production of
2000 Cabernet Sauvignon followed by boisterous approval--In vino veritas.
(Latin translation: "There is truth in wine.") Andy, Marissa and Mike then
realized it was time to begin serious production of the wine that was to be
named MadoroM--a combination of their names.
Marissa currently adds her creative talents to the MadoroM team effort by
organizing MadoroM's special events and overseeing all design work.
Their mutual goal is to yearly produce, through dedication to wine
excellence and hard work, an extraordinary wine. Their customers, who share
their love of excellence in wine, have been crucial to the continuing
success of the MadoroM label. The Team MadoroM will continue to work
diligently to meet the high expectations of all their customers.
